“Turning Chaos Into Calm.”

John Hopkins is a painter based in Pennsylvania, whose work explores nature, spirituality, and the patterns that connect us to the world around us. Born in Williamsport and raised in Harrisburg, John holds a BFA from Kutztown University.

His current body of work is rooted in geometric abstraction, using thousands of individual dots to create paintings that are both precise and meditative. Inspired by elements of nature, from the sun and stars to the patterns found within life itself, John uses repetition as a way to turn chaos into calm.

Artist Statement.

Exploring themes of nature and spirituality, using an abstract method of laying dots to create emotion. Documenting life’s inner world through a unique visual language.

The application of dots is a meditative practice turning chaos into calm. Inspiration often comes from natural elements (sun, stars), with dots symbolizing celestial bodies or the organic quantum patterns of life.
